Backpageman is not saying that he’s a kingmaker or that his outsize influence seems to be what put Tom over the top, but he will say this: Every single Cartoon Contest entry Backpageman has ever backed has won. Congrats, Tom. And, by the way, why is it that you’re from the Bronx when rubbing elbows with salt of the earth on this site, yet you’re from New York, NY when you’re sipping Merlot with the America-haters at the New Yorker?
