And Your Backpages: August 28, 2008

Another huge day for both the baseball locals — and Yankee misery trumps Met victory on two of the three Backpages. A few instructive lessons for all the little Backpageologists at home. Note that Yankee misery stories ALWAYS feature a picture of A-Rod. And that in the Battle of The Backpages, when a Steinbrenner opens his mouth, he will own the day. Always. Well done, Hank the Yank. No Swamis today but a tip of the Swami turban to the Krull clan for showing that the Backpage game is one the whole family can play. And now, from the New York delegation…. Your Backpages…

The Post and News go with Yankee loss in Minnesota, while Newsday opts for Phelps mania. A little Backpageology 101 for the kids at home. Note the picture on the Post. When in doubt, call A-Rod out.

And Your Backpages: July 15, 2008

Last night presented a great challenge to the Heroes of No games, and no news really. And how did the Heroes respond? They cowered in silence. Tip of the Swami turban to the Fedora for his youthful naivete, thinking Newsday would lead with SNOW-ED, after the Iceanders fired coach Ted Nolan. As Backpageman likes to say, a hockey Backpage is a bit like spotting a moose. A rare thing indeed. Backpage of the day honors for the News. When in doubt, call out the Red Sox. All Star Game tonight, Heroes. No more excuses.
