All the Teabagging thats Fit to Print

by Backpageman on September 21, 2008

The last few days have been all about The Stadium, and rightly so. The Troika has had dozens of features about it. Yet the Times showed its supremacy once more with a cavalcade of Douchebags of the Universe that would make Ken Burns jealous. Billy Crystal, Henry Kissinger, Keith Olbermann, Penny Marshall, Ari Fleischer, Jill Abramson, Michiko Kakutani, Robert Creamer and Jane Heller.

If you’re short on time, the stories are basically this: That magical day my father/uncle/neighbor/super-important life brought me to The Stadium where I saw/sniffed/met/almost met Ruth/Gehrig/DiMaggio/Yogi/Mantle/Maris changed my life. Well, Backpageman can only hope the Shea retrospective is just as good. Maybe Madeleine Albright waxing sentimental about Mike Jorgensen? Or Walter Cronkite writing about his cherished Pat Zachry jersey?

Latte-sipping, Volvo-driving, America-hating Non-sports-getting Headline of the Day

Is the Times really claiming that winning a 10-1 game 10-9 is testing the mettle? It seems so.
